Finished 4 years chemistry & zoology at UBC in 1954, 7 years as analyst in Biochem. Dept., U. Wash, Seattle while taking 2nd degree in anthropology, then PhD at U of Calgary; then Arctic Archaeologist with National Museum of Man starting in 1972. Retired in 1996 as Curator Emeritus, plus Adj. Prof., Carleton University, Ottawa. Now leading project on 1st peoples of Eastern North America, comprising participants from Mississippi N to Maritimes and W to Beringia, all areas of past caribou.
