A Long Trip Home
I started my studies at UBC in 1979, completing a BASc in Mechanical Engineering in 1984 and an MASc in the same field in 1986. I then went on to a research position in Toronto for one year, then to Boston (Harvard & MIT) for my PhD in Medical Engineering, South Carolina for a postdoctoral fellowship in Orthopaedic Trauma, and finally got a chance to return home to Vancouver as an Assistant Professor at UBC in 1995. I'm now delighted to be training the next generation of biomedical engineers.
