The City of Penticton congratulates UBC on its Centennial celebrations, and specifically UBC Okanagan’s 10th anniversary. 

Bright minds from throughout our region have travelled north to the Okanagan campus for a decade. Penticton students benefit greatly with access to excellent education so close to home, and our regional knowledge economy is greater for UBC Okanagan’s presence. 

Our research shows that people relocate to live in Penticton based on experiences they have here when they are younger–either as a child or young adult. UBC Okanagan attracts thousands of youth who quickly fall in love with the region’s lifestyle and scenery, many who will return later in life to call Penticton home.

There is much to be thankful for having UBC Okanagan in our region, and on behalf of Council, we wish UBC and everyone at the Okanagan campus success during this year of celebration, and in all the years to come.
