UBC researchers are at the forefront of improving health and educational outcomes, developing technology and changing the way we relate to our greatest natural resource – the environment.

As Premier of British Columbia, I am very pleased to recognize the 100th Anniversary of the University of British Columbia.

UBC has come a long way — from less than 400 students to almost 60,000; from three faculties to 20; from one campus at Point Grey to many schools, colleges, research units, centres and institutes throughout the province and around the world.

As one of the world’s top 40 universities, UBC has produced in excess of 300,000 alumni, who have learned from some of the best and brightest thinkers and researchers in the world.

UBC researchers are at the forefront of improving health and educational outcomes, developing technology and changing the way we relate to our greatest natural resource – the environment.

UBC has a long and proud history, and its future looks bright as a place of mind for many generations to come.

Congratulations to everyone involved in organizing this celebration of an institution that for 100 years, has been a source of pride for all British Columbians, led the way in higher learning, and been instrumental in driving positive change in our province, our country, and the world.

The Honourable Christy Clark
Premier of British Columbia
