Once a Writing Student, Always a Writing Student
The process of beginning to take myself seriously as a writer began at UBC. Now, as a professor of creative writing in the Department of English at Concordia University in Montreal, I carry into the classroom my fellow writers and instructors from the fourth floor of Buchanan E. My students and I continue to benefit from their insights, and the insights themselves continue and deepen -- as does the conversation, for many of my closest friends are writers I met at UBC.
