I was a small town girl who was accepted into the BSW After Degree Program in 1989. I had never left home before and moving from small town Manitoba to Vancouver was a big adjustment. My new classmate decided to take me to show the highlights of the campus and introduced me to Wreck Beach and all the "sights". I remember calling home to tell all my friends that "I was not in Kansas anymore"!"
