Mr Gage
My memories of engineering at UBC:
Worst is being involved in stealing the 9 o'clock gun and other (fab) pranks in those early days; good that such puerile activity is now gone!
BEST is occasionally being stopped by Dean Walter Gage during his "rounds" of the campus; his concern was to ensure that all students felt truly valued. He was undoubtedly an EXCEPTIONAL character and rightly remembered with such veneration amongst older alumni! I treasure the photo of him passing me my degree.
