I was enrolled in the bachelor of music program. Part of the requirements included performing, in a variety of settings: from solos, to orchestra to small ensembles. I was terrified of the stage and the audience in front of me, hidden by the black lights. Across my four years at ubc I learned to overcome those nerves and see performing as a privilege and special time. Performance is a way to communicate with people in an intimate and distraction free setting, so rare in today's stimulating world
