Long Road to Literature
In my second year of Nursing (1994) I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. I'll never forget the day I went to the UBC hospital and the doctor sat me down and told me those life changing words. "You have cancer." I had my treatment at home in Regina, SK. Two weeks after completing chemo and radiation, I packed up my car and drove back to Vancouver and to Gage Apartments where I healed. I was welcomed back with open arms and into the Faculty of Arts where I pursued my love of literature.
