From voiceless Introversion to Joyful Expression

Arriving at UBC was intimidating for a small town girl and I kept my head down. But terse Mr. Gibberd taught Music composition. He wrote on my paper--Keep writing! 20+ years later I saw him at a concert, and approached him to say, "Those 2 words encouraged me; 100+ songs & 40 yrs later, I'd arranged for my own choirs." He seemed bemused but pleased. "Never too late," he said. You never know how tossed-off comments affect someone. For me, from voiceless Introversion to joyful Expression.
