'Big '50"

Our class was known as Big '50 - it was the Vet's (WW II) class and somewhat miraculous how UBC seized the initiative and utilized army hut after army hut - to accommodate classes, labs and residences. The coastal battery moved out and we moved in. - all - in 1946, 5 months after VE Day. Many vets were there for fun - most were mature and very serious about their studies. - regular students found themselves in a very competitive atmosphere. I think we graduated over 900 - 1 female. MEMORABLE !
